This section describes the installation procedure of RainCode. RainCode is installed as a single distribution, that includes a binary version for NT, and whatever it takes to produce a binary for any Unix platform. However, in any case, the original installation must happen on an NT or Win9X machine. In case of Unix as the production environment, the required files must be transferred to the Unix machine before compilation.
Installation is rather simple: just execute
the binary setup.exe from the installation CD, or the
self-extract executable
(cobrc0.exe for Cobol,
plirc0.exe for PL/1,
cpprc0.exe for C++,
adarc0.exe for Ada). Follow the installation procedure
step by step, by answering the questions. This installation
procedure installs the entire NT distribution, as well as the
source distributions for other platforms.
